Hear ye, hear ye! Announcing VBS 2013, The Mighty God—God Leads Moses and Me will soon be commencing. You will find this VBS ’tis most splendid! Aye, our castle exploration will begin in the blue room where your squires will learn how much God loved Moses and how much God loves you also and has a great plan for your life. You will embark on the next castle stop in the green room where the squires will learn how God called Moses and how He calls every squire through reading His Word and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. From there, you will enter into the orange room on your castle exploration where the squires will understand about how God spared the Israelites by the Passover and how that relates to Jesus being the Passover Lamb for all and, with acceptance, salvation is freely given. ’Tis the greatest treasure! You will set out for the red room where the squires will learn how God led Moses and the Israelites and how God also leads you through life. Your castle exploration will conclude at the purple room where the squires will learn how God cared for Moses and the Israelites and how God cares and provides for you also. While exploring The Mighty God, you will discover “there is nothing too hard for thee: . . . the Great, the Mighty God” (Jeremiah 32:17,18).

As you prepare to take on the task of being the VBS director, spend time alone in prayer. Pray for the staff, teachers, children and their families that through Vacation Bible School many lives will be eternally changed. That’s what it’s all about! Recruiting VBS Workers

It’s time to recruit VBS Workers. The Director’s Plan Book has a section called “Recruiting” that will help the VBS Director. There you will find a checklist (see excerpt below) that will help the Director recruit the right people for the right jobs.

The checklist also gives the Sunlight Express thematic names for those positions. For instance, the VBS Director is the Station Master.

The VBS Director’s Checklist

The VBS Director plays a key role in Vacation Bible School. The Director is involved in determining the VBS format and schedule, recruiting other workers, overseeing daily VBS activities, keeping up with the budget and spending, working with decorating and cleanup, promoting VBS and following up after VBS, etc.

A Message from Julie, to the Directors 

All aboard! The Sunlight Express, Jesus and Me, will soon be departing. Our first stop on our journey will be at the Great Gorge where we’ll learn how to receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Our second stop will be at Mercy Meadows. There we will learn the importance of following Jesus. Then, we will head over to Fearless Falls where we may get a little wet. We’ll learn how to trust Jesus in difficult times. Next, we’ll head through the Timeless Tunnel where we’ll hear about Christ’s resurrection and what it means. Our last stop will be at Sonrise Summit. There we will learn about Christ’s return and how to be prepared. While aboard the Sunlight Express we’ll discover that Jesus saves us, leads us, cares for us, lives for us and will return for us because He loves us!

In preparation for this life-changing VBS, use this book as a guide to help you through the process from beginning to end. As you prepare to take on the task of being the VBS director, spend time alone in prayer. Pray for the staff, teachers, children and their families that through Vacation Bible School many lives will be changed eternally. That’s really what it’s all about!
